Mission Statement:
Table88 is dedicated to eradicating food poverty without stigma. Our mission is to establish cafes that serve as genuine community hubs for vulnerable individuals in the towns we operate. We are committed to supporting those facing adversity, whether through homelessness, living in temporary accommodation, or simply day-to-day financial struggles, by providing them with nourishing meals and a sense of belonging.
Vision:
At Table88, we envision a future where everyone has access to warm meals and a secure space for social interaction. We aspire to be recognised as inclusive cafes where all are welcome, regardless of their ability to pay for meals, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to serving high-quality food.
Objectives:
Operating from cafes, our objectives are centred around the well-being of the individuals we encounter daily. We aim to:
1. Fight Food Poverty:
Provide nutritious meals to those in need, addressing food insecurity in our communities.
2. Combat Loneliness, Especially in the Over 65’s:
Create a welcoming environment that fosters social interaction, with a special focus on addressing loneliness among the elderly.
3. Provide a Safe Space for Teenagers to Socialise After School:
Establish a secure and inviting space for teenagers to connect, fostering positive relationships and a sense of community.
4. Teach Cooking Skills to Those From Deprived Backgrounds:
Empower individuals from underprivileged backgrounds with cooking skills and knowledge surrounding the preparation of healthy, budget-friendly meals.
5. Help Fulfill the Shortage in Hospitality Staff:
Address the shortage in hospitality staff by providing training opportunities for the unemployed, focusing on both front-of-house and kitchen skills.
